Taking Outfits From Day to Night: 3 Ways

We’ve all had those moments where you’re hopping around trying to put heels on while applying lipstick because you just got home and were supposed to be somewhere ten minutes ago. Little time to go from day to night is stressful!!

For the days where you are constantly go-go-go, you need some magic to happen to look fabulous all day long. Or, maybe, you just need simple outfits that you can dress-up or dress-down for every occasion. These are a few of my favorite and super simple ways to do that! I have actually worn all of these outfits in both their day-time and night-time versions, and I felt fantastic in both versions.

Classic Luxe: Day to Night Outfit One

This first outfit includes one of my all-time favorite pairs of pants – these babies get SO much use! Pants like these are perfect because of their elegant line and classic shape. They easily look much fancier with a pair of heels because of their construction, regardless of the print/color you might choose to get them in. For the day time, I opted for a simple black turtleneck and my go-to sneakers.

When it was time to amp it up for a night out, I added my signature heels (referred to affectionately as The Bitch Stompers by my boyfriend), and a blue silk top. This outfit was for a colder day, so I was trying to find a way to wear this top without freezing! Ultimately, it worked to keep the turtleneck and leave the top unbuttoned. It worked almost the way a blazer/coat might, albeit with a different silhouette. This top also went perfectly with the metallic silver of my heels – a win-win!

You can find the pants here and the heels here! I couldn’t find them online, but the turtleneck is from Madewell and the shirt is from H&M.

Eye-Catching Cool: Day to Night Outfit Two

My Godfather T-shirt is ALWAYS a go-to. This T-shirt one of the only souvenirs I got during my summer in Rome, and I have never regretted it. During the day, I wear it with a moto jacket and sneakers, untucked for a more comfortable and casual look.

To make it a little more posh and feminine for the evening, I add my leopard coat. Pumps could work just as well here, but I opted for my pink booties. I also tucked the shirt in to change the silhouette.

These jeans are from American Eagle!

Casually Leggy: Day to Night Outfit Three

My last look is with this grey, midi tank dress that I love. This dress is so comfy and flattering from behind. During the day, if it’s a little chillier, I throw on a cropped sweatshirt with my sneakers to keep it casual. In the evening, my favorite heels and leather jacket come into the mix again to dress it up. The slit in this dress makes it wearable for shorter girls like me as well and makes it extra flattering in a good pair of heels.

This leather jacket can be found here!
